Today we went for the WTF follow up appointment with the doc. I have to say that I feel very good about moving forward from this point. The doc/clinic was able to give us 70% off the IVF price and we could start round #2 immediately. I have my BCP and will be scheduling a hysteroscopy next week so the doc can take a peek around in there. Hopefully there is nothing else inhibiting implantation; prior to my first cycle I was told that all was looking good, but I think this is just a double check. I think AF is on her way because my ankles hurt and I was feeling a bit crampy today. Not really sure when I should start BCP- it says first "full flow" day and I haven't really had that yet, so I suppose I will wait another day or two.
So aside from the price cut, I really did get the warm and fuzzy feeling that their practice is in it for the long haul with me. My embryologist called me yesterday to let me know that they were all rooting for me and that they would do as much as they could with price in order to get me to do another cycle asap. Both the embryologist and the doc said that they really liked me & M, and that they were going to do everything they could to get us pregnant. They also said that our case was very interesting to them because they believe that we need this technology that they can offer, giving my low odds of normal embryos. The doc was pleased with my stimulation and there is no change to my protocol for round 2 except to put 2 normals in if we have them! I told him that he wouldn't get any pushback from me this time!!! The doc actually gave me stats at my age, that I have about a 65% implantation rate of 1 normal embryo, and it was just a matter of getting the right one! Let's hope he is right...
M & I definitely have a load off of our minds and can sleep semi-easy tonight! That price break was just the push we needed to move forward for round #2 and hopefully the LAST. I am feeling super positive....I might even be looking into fertility acupuncture just to see what that's about. It can't hurt, right?
